Network Rail receive first engraved DECT COM II Kit.

High Motive is pleased to announce  the issue of the first engraved Network Rail DECT COM II kits.

All kits supplied to Network Rail as replacements by High Motive will be engraved with a unique Network Rail fleet number. As well as being  part of our ongoing commitment to industry standardization the engraving has numerous benefits. The colour coded engraving makes it even easier to distinguish units as either handsets (Green, pictured) or bases (Red, pictured) which is a common user error,  and also helps to limit loss as units are easily identifiable.

High Motive exhibits at Network Rail Track and Plant Exhibition

If you were at the Network rail Track and plant exhibition held at Marsden, then you most likely saw the High Motive stand.

This was an ideal venue for us to showcase all that is new and exciting in the world of radio communications. We had 3 wide area radio masts on display, the tallest being 80ft, which could be seen from almost anywhere on site. There was a great deal of interest in our new Versaflow respirator compatible DECT COM II system. This allows those working in dusty environments, such as ballast brushing ,stone drops and stone blowers to have full duplex communications, whilst at the same time wearing the the versaflow respirator helmet.

High Motive has also recently been awarded a framework agreement by Network rail for us to update and re-program all of Network Rails DECT COM kits to our standard. The exhibition was a great opportunity for us as a company to meet Network Rail staff and discuss how we can improve their duplex communications.

The High Motive stand

Free burgers and soft drinks were served all day , making our stand somewhat of a hub for weary exhibition goers, which also gave us the opportunity to showcase our new onsite Wifi systems.

Wifi access was free to anyone making a donation to Help for Heroes, a charity which we are very proud to support.

All in all is was a very successful exhibition for us. Thanks to everyone who came to the stand to visit us, we look forward to working with you soon.

High Motive wins second Network Rail Framework agreement

We at high motive are very pleased to announce that we have just won a Network Rail framework agreement to re-program and update all of Network Rail's Dect Com II kits to our standard. We will be covering the South of the UK with Site Link covering the North and Scotland.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make the DECT duplex system consistent across the industry. Having a consistent simple system in place, that everyone knows how to use will greatly benefit the safety of machine controllers.

High Motive wins Network Rail framework agreement.

Network Rail  has awarded High motive a national framework agreement to supply throat mics for DECT COM II. Network Rail had previously issued it's DECT COM with headset microphones. This framework agreement will give Network Rail DU's the option of using throat mics, which, in turn will solve many of the inherent problems associated with the old headset. This is a very positive move towards industry standardization in the use of DECT COM II, and we believe will help to create a safer, and more effective working environment for machine controllers.

New Mobile Control Centre provides 24 hour cover at Reading blockade

The Easter Blockade at Reading Station turned the area into one of the  largest construction sites in Europe. This was an ideal opportunity to trial our new mobile radio communications centre.

Control centre ready to hit the road

We provided 24 hour radio support for Carillion throughout the blockade. The mobile control centre gives us the flexibility to charge, service and repair radios on site, ensuring that the machines can run with maximum safety and minimum downtime.

Mobility and Flexibility is key in the fast paced communications industry. The addition of the control centre to our fleet allows us to meet our clients needs, quickly and efficiently wherever they are.

DECT COM II hire and support for Loughbor Viaduct - Easter 2013

March 2013 saw a 250 hour blockade to transform Loughor Viaduct, South Wales. High motive provided safety critical DECT COM II communications for the project, as well as providing onsite engineer support.

"Having a radio engineer onsite for blockades such as Loughor, not only ensures  the safety of those working  trackside, but also limits the loss of kit, and helps to keep replacement costs to a minimum"

Tunnel communication system installed at Shugborough Tunnel

High motive supplied and installed a Tunnel radio system in the 777 metre long tunnel at Shugborough, to ensure effective communications from marker board to marker board and throughout the length of the Tunnel, a total distance of 5 miles. Whilst the Tunnel itself is not particularly long, it is electrified which created certain challenges for the installation engineers to overcome in order to make this project a success.
